Age 73, passed away June 4, 2009 in Ohio. She was born August 18, 1935 in Wauseon Ohio to John and Flossie (Fitzsimmons) Turpening. Lucille worked at Miller’s Ice Cream Shop for 20 years. She married Kingsley Church Jr. September 11, 1953. Lucille enjoyed camping, playing the slot machines and being with her friends and beloved family.
She is survived by daughters, Pam (Bill) Amsdill of Brooklyn, MI, Toni (Jim) Nelson of Eaton Rapids, Charyl (Ric) Cervantes of Cottage Grove, TN; sons, Scott (Laura) Church of Rossford, OH, King (Pat) Church III of Eaton Rapids; 31 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and one sister, Jeanette Murry of OH. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband Kingsley Jr., 5 brothers, 2 sisters and her parents.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Monday June 8, 2009, at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, 518 S. Main St. Eaton Rapids, with Pastor Scott Boles officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm.
